my baby boy

Let me tell you about my son, Davy. He's 18 now...and ready to graduate from high school next month. He'll be heading off to college in NY in the fall...he's a great kid; gets good grades, works hard at his job at a banquet facility, is responsible, trustworthy, and fun to hang around with. And he always tells his momma that he loves her and misses her. He gives me a big smooch and big bear hugs when we see each other and when we say goodbye. He's a delight to watch as he develops into a young man - one that any mother would be proud of.

Yesterday, when I drove into the driveway at home after work, I was greeted by this dramatic arrangement of silk flowers. When I saw that they were from Davy, I marveled at how much the arrangement reminded me of my boy - big and bold and making a statement without being (too) outrageous...
Every time I look at it, I smile. Thanks, honey. (And thank you for telling the florist to sign the card "Love, Davy" - I know you prefer to be called 'Dave' now - but you know that you'll always be 'Davy' to me.) I love you.

How neat! My "baby" boy is graduating from college this coming Saturday. It's hard to believe -- they do grow up. And they make you proud...

Happy Mother's Day from one MOB to another!
