Yesterday, Steve & I bundled up (the temps were hovering around 35 all afternoon) and ventured out to a Christkindl festival at nearby Mifflinburg. It's a German street fair event that featured all kinds of German food and crafts and activities.

We were greeted by large soldier-type figures...and the aroma of wonderful German cooking: bratwurst & saurkraut, cookies, struedel, chicken & corn soups with rivels...
And this is Bob Clark, a friend of Steve's, who (in his real life) works as a teacher at the Allenwood Federal Penitentiary. In his spare time, he likes to do blacksmithing and sell his craft at fairs and demonstrations...

And here is Steve as we are waiting for our shuttle bus back to our car. It got a bit chilly as we waited (he cleverly wore his long underwear!) - and he is clutching our bottle of wine under his arm...a tasty spiced one that is yummy when it's warmed up.

On our way home, we stopped for pizza at the best Italian restaurant in the area: http://www.laprimaverarist.com/. Their crab & shrimp dip appetizer was terrific and we finished with a chocolate and cherry cheesecake...
Wait! There's more! We come home and caught the movie Lucky Number Slevin (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425210/) on PPV. Fun plot twists...we watched it twice....
Can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday!
