With Barack Obama's win last night, I am reminded of Stacey's first week in Washington, D.C.

My blog entry from Jan. 23, 2007:

Stacey called tonight. Her first words were: "Well, today has been an interesting day."
OK - to a mother, that could mean many things. It could mean that she was mugged and robbed and wanted to come home. Or it could mean she rode up the elevator with Senator Barack Obama and had a chance to ask him a few questions.
Today, it meant the latter...
Yes, she interviewed Barack Obama - on her second day on the job...

What did she ask him when she interviewed him?

Nothing interesting; it was right before Bush's State of the Union address, and I asked him what he expected the Prez to say. Obama said that he was going to wait and hear the president's speech before he made any judgements on it.

As with many things in life, the reality is not quite as interesting as life through a mother's viewing lens.

But it was cool to ride in the elevator with him :)

And I'm very happy he won :)
