Baby, it's cold....

In my entire life, I don't remember it being this cold. Ever. Last night, it was a balmy -5 when we went to bed at midnight (after Steve used the hairdryer to thaw out the main water line in the basement...when we got home @ 8 after a stop at the grocery store, we didn't have any running water!)
This morning, Steve got up around 6:30 to no water again. We went downstairs and the thermometer read -17! By the time I got the camera, it was 7:01 a.m., registering -18. Unbelievable!


Steve warmed up the hot water pipe but the cold water is still not running upstairs. The pipe apparently runs under the kitchen crawlspace so he rigged up this hairdryer gun with the pipe from the Shop-Vac and duct tape!




9:30 a.m. and he is still in the basement...and there is still no cold water.
