Line 17 - there it is....

For the longest time, I have been trying to figure out how my father's father actually entered America...and when. The story was that he came from London through Ellis Island with his soon-to-be wife, Carrie. There were no records, no papers, no proof. A few months ago, I did find proof of Carrie's entrance into the US at http://www.ellisisland.org. She came with her mother in Oct. 1906. But where was Jim? We didn't know...
The other day, I was doing some research for something at work and I stumbled across a search engine on ancestry.com for other New York passengers lists (on ships that did not deposit their passengers at Ellis Island). I did a search...and there he was! On line 17 of the ship manifest for the Lusitania when it sailed into New York on March 31, 1909 there was the proof. Eight months later, Jim & Carrie got married.

The same Lusitania that picked up the passengers of the Titanic after it sank?

I think it was the Carpathia that picked up Titanic passengers, Stacey. The Lusitania was sunk in 1915 when a German sub torpedoed it!
