I don't know about you, but it seems that every time we get a major appliance paid off, another one decides to break, blow up, or stop working...Just last week, Steve said to me, "Looks like this is the last payment for the new mattress (we got a great soft-side water mattress a while back). On Sunday, I was baking something and I saw a strange yellow glow from the oven. Uh oh! Something happened to the big coil on the bottom. Instead of getting the coil replaced (this stove had come with the house...), we got a new stove - a flat top with a convection oven. It was delivered yesterday -
just in time for Rachael to make a pineapple upside-down cake for her dad's birthday....which is today.
While he is golfing this morning, I am in the process of making the mix and getting ready to make chocolate ice cream - in his birthday present - an ice cream maker. I know that making ice cream - with the half & half and the whipping cream and the whole milk and the melted semi-
sweet chocolate (with the chocolate and peanut butter chips thrown in after it's done) will be more expensive that just picking up a half gallon of Turkey Hill....but have you ever tasted real home-made ice cream? It's quite a treat!Update later on the festivities....
