I think I mentioned something before about a little baby that was born in February in Colorado. Her name is Faith and her parents are friends of Jacquie and Dan. Little Faith was born much too early and only weighed a little over a pound. She has overcome some unbelievable odds to survive but it has come to the point where the decision has been made to do a tracheostomy and insert a feeding (gastrostomy) tube to help her breathe and eat. Her surgery is this afternoon at 3:30 (in Colorado), which is 5:30 for us here on the east coast. So...on your way home from work today, say a little prayer for baby Faith and her brave parents, Jen and Brian, who are finding strength in their faith and the love for their baby girl. This is a photo of Faith during her first week of life:

Although Faith looks like a healthy newborn (she's now 7 1/2 pounds), her survival depends on her ability to breathe and eat, which she cannot do on her own right now. You can follow her progress at:

Hope all went well for Faith. Being a Mr. Mom after and having a baby boy born in February after 31 years since my last one was born has given me a better perspective of parenting and the fragility of the babies. They are all strong and have the desire to overcome, but a little prayer doesn't hurt either. God bless all the little ones.
