When we went to North Myrtle in '05, I took my drawing pad and pencils because I always thought that the beach was a perfect place to be creative (draw, paint, write, etc.). Well, I found beautiful scenes to draw but the weather then (it was August) was absolutely awful - it was HOT and HUMID...when I took my pad out to sketch something, my sweating hand stuck to the paper and the ocean breeze insisted on blowing the pages around...I did, however, manage to draw the scene from the condo looking out onto the beach. I didn't take a photo then (the camera would not work either - too much condensation from being in the AC and then taken outside into sauna-like humidity).
Before we left yesterday for the 12-hour drive back home, I took a couple of pictures of where I sketched the beach in 2005. Not much has changed (except for the wind blowing in a different direction!)
